How Do I Get My Downloaded Fonts On To Gimp?

I downloaded some fonts and brushes and i need to get them on gimp but i don’t know how.. can someone please tell me?

    the fonts for gimp go in system folder with all fonts http://www.ehow.com/how_4594037_install-…
    the gbr brushes go into gimp> sub folder share> gimp> brushes,
    then restart gimp,http://gimper.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7
    you can create new folder for gimp and use gimp preferences to choose new folder,
    ..
