Well, the answer is that there isn’t any real average. Designers, no matter where they are in the country, have different rates depending on their skill, experience, and demand. A graphic design student might charge a flat rate of 50 bucks and a 6 pack of bud light, and a design firm with a roster of corporate clients will charge around 200/hr.
So figure out where you are and the scale from amateur to seasoned corporate grade professional and charge what you think is fair for your expertise.
